Please keep the following information in mind when planning your trip:

By Bike:

When arriving via the Lakefront Trail after 6 a.m., please cross DuSable Lake Shore Drive at Randolph Street or the Museum Campus. For your safety, you will not be allowed to cross over DuSable Lake Shore Drive at Monroe Street, Jackson Drive, or Balbo Drive.

By Transit:

You can take your bike on any train or bus operated by the CTA, Metra, and Pace. For this event, the CTA will relax its two-bikes-per-train-car policy from 3 a.m. to 2 p.m.

By Car:

Fifth Third Bike the Drive is a celebration of healthy, sustainable transportation. Please consider biking or using public transit to get to the event. If you plan to drive, keep in mind DuSable Lake Shore Drive will be closed to car traffic at 6 a.m. Please find an alternative route if arriving after 6 a.m.

PARKING

Millennium Garages:

** Note – clearance of garage entrance is 7 feet, so if you have a bike on your car’s roof, you’ll need to remove it.

We recommend the Millennium Lakeside Garage. The automobile entrance is on South Columbus Drive between Monroe Street and Randolph Street.

Soldier Field North Garage:

Day of Event Only (no presales)

Bikers before 10am will pay a $25 rate

After 10am the rate will be $30 for anyone entering the garage

Museum of Science and Industry:

Entrance is located at 57th and Cornell Avenue. Parking for General Public is $22.

Garage height clearance

  • Blue (D) section: Initial 8’2″ reduces to 7’2″. (Check signs.)
  • All other sections: 6’6″.

Oversized vehicle and van-accessible parking: Use Blue (D) section.
Accessible parking spaces are located in all garage sections. More on Accessibility at the Museum.
